WELCOME TO UPTOWN

Straddling Highway 89A and running alongside Oak Creek, Sedona’s Uptown is a hub of arts and culture set against the breathtaking backdrop of the distinctive red rocks.

Bathed in glorious year-round sunshine, Uptown’s streets and plazas transport residents and visitors to small-town Mexico. Fountains and sculptures dot open squares nestled among enchanting Latin architecture, with the beautiful red rocks adding to the neighborhood’s vibrancy.

Uptown is one of the best small towns in the country for art, with galleries on almost every street corner showcasing an eclectic mix of local and global artists. The Sedona Arts Center is the heart of the local art scene, with a gallery offering fine art pieces available for sale.

Shaded by the sycamore trees alongside Oak Creek, the beautiful Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village contains more than 50 galleries and specialty art shops, as well as restaurants offering al fresco dining. Talented sculptors can often be seen working on their latest creations in the splendor of Tlaquepaque’s cobblestone courtyard. With its stucco walls and gorgeous archways, Tlaquepaque feels as if it has been in Sedona for centuries.

A more modern but similarly attractive retail option can be found at The Shops at Hyatt Piñon Pointe, with a great selection of restaurants and fashion boutiques.

Sedona’s dramatic landscape served as the setting for many epic Hollywood Westerns. The area’s filmmaking legacy lives in on plaques commemorating famous actors dotted through Uptown’s plazas and in exhibits at the Sedona Heritage Museum in Jordan Park. There is also the National Day of the Cowboy, a fun celebration that embraces Sedona’s filmmaking past.

Other festivals bring even more creative flair into the area, with annual favorites including Sedona International Film Festival, Red Rocks Music Festival, and Sedona Jazz on the Rocks.

Spa resorts L’Auberge and Amara allow guests to luxuriate in Sedona’s beautiful natural setting with world-class hospitality and outstanding facilities. Both resorts are located on the banks of Oak Creek, with patio restaurants serving top-quality cuisine in the open air of this gorgeous natural setting.

There are many hiking trails rising into the beautiful surrounding red rock mountains. To experience all that this unique natural environment offers, there are a number of businesses in Uptown offering Jeep tours. These tours take participants through the extraordinary topography of this incredible landscape, from the Sonoran Desert to the the dense pine forest of the Colorado Plateau.

Homes within Uptown’s vicinity are in keeping with the beauty and luxuriousness of the area’s business and stunning natural surroundings. The diverse local real estate should satisfy all tastes, with several Uptown areas containing opulent upscale homes.

Jordan Park is a 4.5-acre expanse of iris gardens, fruit orchards, and nature trails. Luxurious multi-million dollar homes sit on tree-shaded lots surrounding the park.
